A fun and entertaining piece of dance, music and theatre which leads us to reflect on time, on our commitment to beginnings and endings, on the original present and brand new moments, on initial expectations and the pleasure of letting go.
“We live obliged to not realising.
We are people of principle and we love endings.
To be continued”
“How to start at the beginning if things happen before they happen.
Things are what they are.
Then there are desires”
“We want everything and we want it now, but we’re always missing something”
Altraste is a company directed Zuriñe Benavente and Ignacio Monterrubio which stands out for its fusion of music, dance and theatre in its shows. This 2024, on its tenth anniversary, it will premiere two new pieces, LUTINIER, a long piece for specific places with five stage performers, and EL BOLERO, a short piece for street performance centred on the body and its relation to music.
With this multidisciplinary fusion, they achieve a unique and characteristic language to communicate with an audience interested in the search for new sensations and sensibilities. Their last two productions show us impudence, carefreeness and chaos, in the case of Nancy en Vietnam and/or sensitivity, beauty and well-being, in the case of Mientras llueva.
In turn, they direct and coordinate the DANZÁLAVA International Festival of Dance and Movement, based in the ARTIUM Museum in Vitoria-Gasteiz, which has helped them bring artists to Vitoria-Gasteiz like Meg Stuart, Mark Tompkins, Katie Duck, Vera Mantero, Mónica Valenciano, María Scaroni, Julyen Hamilton, Florence Augendre, Jeremy Wade, Mala Kline, Oscar Gómez Mata, Philipp Gehmacher, Iñaki Azpillaga, Thomas Hauert and Marta Izquierdo, amongst others.
