Creating ideas - time - destroying ideas. It’s something that happens to all of us. We respond with a waltz until we find ourselves in the kingdom of the absurd. Searching and searching, testing and testing. And even so, always with the feeling of going back to the original idea. (Either) the idea is good, (or) you don’t have a better one. The nonsense full of 3/4 square bars excites us, moves us. Just like when the sea moves when it’s calm. We continually decipher our common language, we get it and we start all over again. We take a risk by stripping our code and serving it raw. Hoping that the apple will go with it. This is Remedios Vals, shall we dance?
We are Manu Gaigne, percussionist, and Jone Amezaga, dancer. In 2020, we launched our project ZERBAIT.NOIZBAIT.NONBAIT. Our motivation was to do work of an interdisciplinary nature, enquiring into and putting into practice the different methods that each discipline entails when it comes to creating in common with others. Always placing these disciplines at the same level, with the aim of creating a horizontal elation among them. Thus, the continual search for a common language has become the foundation and form of making our way.
In 2022, with the desire to get the most out of a specific material, we decided to create our first piece, Remedios Vals (Remedies Waltz).
