Nun zira? tells us about being human, about sharing, about valuing what it means to exist and about living together with the people we love. Situating spectators in a wartime context, the pair of performers, accompanied by the choir, will construct a journey from the intimate to the wildest of the struggles for human survival, the driving force of which will be mutual love. After experiencing a traumatic situation, one has to reconstruct one’s IDENTITY and Nun Zira? Is a reflection of that journey.
The armour which accompanies the performers during the work represents the victims in a dual way. It reflects the strength with which they faced one another and, at the same time, it shows their inner soul, full of hope and seeking to move forward. The dichroic is a spotlight that will guide the performers in this process of overcoming and searching for IDENTITY.
DAB was created in June 2022 by Marina Eskisabel and Iker Sanz. With the experience and knowledge obtained in the company Dantzaz, they established DAB, Danza Arte y Mediación (Dance Art and Mediation), the tools with which they explore different social themes. The journey began on 15 July that same year, premiering the multidisciplinary work "Nun Zira?", created with the accompaniment of the EASO Choir, in the Kutxa Kultur Tabakalera. Taking this work as a foundation, they have put together various acts to raise dance awareness: La danza al aula, Dantza-zu!, Mugimenduaren izaera dance workshop. Moreover, they have also had the pleasure of collaborating on the show Sorozabal, by the EASO Choir, and they will be part of the line-up for the children’s work Maribel Oiloa.
