ERREKA ONDOAN, BI GEZUR (ON THE RIVER BANKS, TWO LIES) is a stage work in which the concepts of lying and fiction are questioned. The piece is a legend, with elements both fictional and extracted from direct reality. Real characters who coexist with fantasy and supernatural elements; landscapes which emerge and disappear; songs which evoke very different worlds. The work is a journey of constant transformation, in which fiction catches you and reality falters. This, the latest creation of Mari Zaunka, combines dance, song and text.
The dancers and creators Nerea Gurrutxaga and Oihana Vesga make up the Mari Zaunka collective.
Both completed higher education studies in dance at the London Contemporary Dance School in London, and began to develop their professional careers in the United Kingdom.
They premiered in 2020 their first joint creation called ‘Leiho Zikin, Zeru Garbi’ at the Festival Bad in Bilbao, and since then they have presented the piece in several theatres and festivals in the Basque Country, including the LaboXL at Tabakalera, PDF Pasaiako Dantza Festibala and Baratza Aretoa in Vitoria. The company also develops projects in the field of education and intervention through dance.
