Intellectual structure, maxims and the fear of social punishment limit the physicality and expression of the body. Each culture has material and formal structures surrounded by norms which constantly change: the way of working, the way of resting, sexuality, care and standardised ways of walking. Compressed in everyday choreographies, the body tries to survive by exhausting its form; landscapes open up in its cracks.
Ane Zapirain Gorostegi (Bilbao, 1997). She has a degree in Publicity and Public Relations from the University of the Basque Country. She started learning Basque dance and ballet when she was three years old, moving on to more urban styles in her adolescence until she discovered contemporary dance. She continued her professional development as a dancer in La Faktoria Centro Coreográfico (Iruña, 2022) and Mutis Espazioa (Leioa, 2023). Driven by discovering her own perspective and language, she began to take her first steps with Agortu, a solo format project selected for the programme of accompaniment and choreographic creation, Dantzan Bilaka.
